A reflection.

Ecliptic and silver winged,

They came sweeping down;

Giant metal birds of prey,

Shocking all into silence.

Do you remember where you were?

Did you see

The soulless raptors descending

From clear September sky?

Digging their beaks and talons

Into our luscious peace of mind.

Do you remember where you were?

Did you think

Babel was being struck down?

A punishment for unconfused tongues.

A hammer dropped on the back of a bullet.

The torrent of Fire and Thunder

And sparks falling like rain.

Do you remember where you were?

Perhaps sitting beside me,

Wrapped in confusion and denial,

Kindred in our anger.

We were united by terror

And became one in fear

Do you remember?
