lovers to strangers

lost love

With sweet melodies, Ariana sings,

Of love lost, and painful stings,

"We can’t be friends," her voice rings,

"I’ll wait till you love me again."

Her words ignite a flame inside,

As I wonder how love, it can hide,

The ones we once held so close,

Now mere strangers, nobody knows.

We bared our souls, shared secrets bold,

Entrusted our hearts, our stories told,

Stayed up late, waiting to assure,

They made it home, safe and secure.

But why does love fade away,

And leave us wandering in dismay,

Do we have multiple soulmates to find,

Or is it just loving, one at a time?

The thought of loving once again,

The fear of heartbreak, a familiar pain,

It’s a journey of ups and downs,

Where love can be lost and then be found.

In the end, we take the leap,

With anxious hearts and promises to keep,

Hoping this time for a happy end,

To never again, go through heartbreak my friend.

Friendship can be so fragile; giving all and losing it on a dime. I think many of us can relate to this. I do.
