Two simple words in my head
Love Yourself
“This is the key” they say
Love Yourself
You cannot do anything without loving you first
It should be easy-peasy
It should be lemon-squeezy
Say it to yourself
Write it to yourself
Tell others you believe it
Two simple words
True simple words
I love myself! I say
Out loud to myself
I love myself once more
But for some reason it doesn’t resonate
Not as much as the negative version does
But no one can know
How I fall to the floor
With those two little words
Daily rituals must convince
This broken shell
Break her in until she caves in
To begin Loving herself
