Dark Heart

In a dark little corner of my dark little heart

A small pink light resides

I call it glitter because it shines

My outer shell is quiet and dark

Never telling, always still

Then one day I saw him

Sitting there

My eyes had done too much

I sat and cursed them in my mind

The glitter in my heart began to dance

Began to make my eyes lock

Staring at this man

I called on the darkness of my heart

Forcing it to dim the light

Thank goodness for the dark

Regaining control and dimming the light

My eyes unlocked and returned

The man looked briefly

To my surprise

This place was done

I cursed my glitter and got right up

I forced my legs and eyes and heart

To leave behind any possibility

Of a glittery destiny
