Love is not Time's fool, though rosy lips and cheeks

Wither with years, and eyes grow dim with tears;

Though tresses lose their lustre, and the feet

That once were light grow weary, and the heart

Grow faint and cold, and hope and joy depart,

Love is not Time's fool.

Love is not Time's fool, though life's fair dream beguile

The soul with hope, and then with sorrow kill;

Though friends prove false, and fortune's fickle wheel

Turns round and round, and leaves us poor and lone,

Love is not Time's fool.

Love is not Time's fool, though death may part the twain

Whose hearts are one, and though the grave may hide

The form we loved, and though the voice we knew

May nevermore be heard, Love is not dead,

Love is not Time's fool.

Love is not Time's fool, but lives on high,

Beyond the reach of change, beyond the reach of death,

In the eternal world, where changeless day

Follows eternal night, and love is king,

And love is Time's fool no more.
