Love's Embrace

"A Sonnet for a Fair Maiden"

Silhouette of a man and woman

Oh fair maiden, with hair of gold
And eyes that sparkle like the stars of old
Your beauty doth outshine the morning sun
And in your presence, my heart doth run

Your voice is sweet as a summer's breeze
And with you, my soul finds easy release
Your gentle touch doth calm my mind
Leaving my worries far behind

But alas, I fear our love may not be
For I am but a simple man, and you a lady
Yet still my heart doth long for thee
And in your love, my happiness would be complete

So let us take a chance and see
If our love can be meant to be
For in your arms, my dear, is where I long to be
Forevermore, my love, just you and me.
