Love's Mend

The air hung heavy, thick with unspoken woes,

A frosty silence where laughter used to flow.

Across the chasm, eyes that once held light,

Now dimmed with shadows, cloaked in endless night.

Love's tapestry, once vibrant, rich, and bold,

Now lay in tatters, frayed and growing cold.

Harsh words, like arrows, pierced a tender heart,

Leaving wounds that festered, tearing love apart.

Regret, a serpent, coiled within the breast,

Whispered tales of errors, putting love to the test.

Pride, a stubborn wall, refused to bend,

Leaving hearts imprisoned, journeys at an end.

But hope, a flickering ember, dared to glow,

A fragile spark, a yearning soft and low.

A memory surfaced, a touch, a gentle sigh,

A whispered promise beneath a starlit sky.

One hesitant step, a bridge across the void,

A voice that trembled, a single word deployed:

"Forgive."

The word hung heavy, a plea for grace,

A chance to mend the fractures, find a sacred space.

Silence yielded, a tear escaped an eye,

A mirror held to truths that couldn't lie.

In the other's gaze, a flicker of despair,

Yet a glimmer of forgiveness, hesitant to share.

Stories unfolded, raw emotions laid bare,

Vulnerability exposed, a weight to bear.

Secrets whispered, burdens long concealed,

Pain acknowledged, emotions finally revealed.

Apologies whispered, a cleansing, gentle rain,

Washing away the hurt, easing the stinging strain.

Understanding bloomed, a fragile, tender shoot,

Empathy taking root, bearing the bitter fruit

Of past mistakes, a lesson etched in stone,

To cherish what they had, a love they'd known.

Forgiveness, a salve, a soothing balm applied,

On wounds that festered, deep inside.

Hesitant fingers reached across the space,

A touch so gentle, a tender, warm embrace.

The warmth of connection, a solace long denied,

Melted icy walls, where love once resided.

Tears mingled freely, cleansing and profound,

Washing away the hurt, on sacred ground.

Laughter, like a melody, soft and sweet,

Banished sorrow's song, replaced a bitter defeat.

Reconciliation's light, a gentle, dawning hue,

Painting the future with a softer, tender blue.

Words of commitment, whispered, soft and true,

To rebuild, to cherish, to start anew.

Love, though tattered, held a promise bright,

To mend the broken threads, and hold on tight.

With patience, understanding, and a tender touch,

They'd rewrite their story, loved ones meant so much.

The journey wouldn't be easy, scars would still remain,

But together they'd face the storms, through sunshine and through rain.

For love, once tested, could emerge more strong,

A bond unbreakable, where they truly belong.
