Love

The gift

By Gregory AndersonPublished about a year ago Updated about a year ago 1 min read

Love Leads sometimes

Where you can’t follow

Hope seems so shallow

You hold on hard it’s to swallow

Believe in the face of all that you see

Hope is buried within and must simply be

Stand on the ground where battles are fought

Life can be unyielding remember what you were taught

We must live by faith and not by sight

Carry the burden of what is wrong or right

Start out in a place called home

So many turn to the streets a substance is the friend that they meet

Escape the pain travail this road alone

Those sitting in glass houses should not throw stones

So many struggle every race color and creed

They are bound and can’t see how to be freed

Love shows up and comforts in the midst of pain

It builds up the soul time and time again

Place your faith in bullets place you faith in might

Even as life’s blood is spilled love can carry you through the night

Love can be the air under your wings giving that which you need to live your dreams

All good gifts it has been said come from above

Still the greatest gift of all is simply love
