You walked into the room,
Tall,
Proud,
Almost arrogant.
Full of the exuberance,
And confidence of youth’s promise.
As you noticed me,
Noticing you,
The air thickened,
A mix of fear, of lust
And anticipation,
you took my hand,
Sparks
Flew,
And the rest is history.
…
Time changes everything,
That’s what they say,
But does it really?
Decades pass,
Lives lived,
No words exchanged.
I walked in
Tall,
Proud,
Almost arrogant,
Full of the confidence
Of a middle-aged swan.
As I notice you,
Noticing me,
The air thickens,
A mix of comfort, of love,
And homecoming.
You take my hand,
Sparks
Fly
And the rest is history,
Again.
