my mind is in a different universe
then the one where my body lies
my memories are begging for the past
but my body is stuck in time
sometimes I don't exist in my world
but I tune in to life when it suits me
I can't breathe through my bones
laughing out my lungs
and bleeding when I smile
I am deaf to reality's pleas
that inner voice might be lying to me
I need to enjoy this new feeling
feeling anything is a novelty for me
it is nice
I wouldn't have to escape but
life has no mercy
