What are we but little pieces,
Floating in the world?
Do we truly meet each other,
Are our lives unfurled?
Do you truly know me,
Do I really know you?
Have our lives crossed paths,
In the old or in the new.
Is the world all we have,
Is there more to life than this?
Do we merely walk past everything we see,
And do not enjoy everything we miss.
Is this how it will be,
Forever will we always guess?
Will we never open our own eyes,
Will we continue to see so much less.
The little wonders in this beloved earth,
Like how the burnings stars shine at night.
Or how the ocean waves at the land,
Or how we never take it all in sight.
Do we realize how we walk,
How we talk and how we move?
Do we know how many times we agree,
Or how many times we disapprove?
We sit lonesome at the bar,
Or party at home with friends.
We cheer over the beginnings,
And cry over the sorrow ends.
Are we but just human beings,
That are imperfect in all we do.
Can I find someone in a crowd?
Do we know what's false or true?
How can we say that we live,
When all we do is take?
How can we claim to run a marathon,
When we all stop for endless breaks?
This can show how fragile we are,
How desperate we can become.
How silly the things we do can be,
How something so clear can be so numb.
We are all bit little pieces,
Some may have smarts or muscle.
But we all have some sort of impact,
As we're little pieces of a large puzzle.
