Limitless

Early Poetry from a estranged mind

This is one of my favorite poems I wrote when I was younger. One about hope instead of dismay. I hope you enjoy it.

Who am I?

Should I just lie?

What is my purpose? Every child asks

Never given an answer, so they turn to the flask

Stressful, never ending, almost too much for the heart

But remember this is just the start.

Swimming out to sea

Wanting to be free

More likely to drown

Always playing the clown

Given the chance this world will cut you in half

So, go ahead, laugh

Written off, never to amount to much

Bred to be strippers, hit men and the such

Smelling blood, sharks encroach

Never knowing that we the misfits, and misled are as cockroaches

Beat us down, burn us up, and bleed us with every cut

Say what you will, try as you might.

We will never give up the fight

Now little one, put down that knife

The reaper has yet to come with his scythe.

Besides this world isn’t even worth your life

Get off the ground, quiet those tears

Never mind those leers

Fight on

Beat the con

Raise your voice

Make some noise

Show them we will never be silent

Always defiant

Burn your own path

Don’t be consumed by wrath

Show them who you are

Prove you will go far

Never settle for less

In the end it will only be an abscess

Test your limits, and break them

History remembers the bold
