The following was written in June 2024
I wrote this song as a poem in March 2024. The lyric is loosely based on the Jimi Hendrix song “One Rainy Wish.,” The poem became a Top Story on Vocal Media and became a big hit. In the comments several people mentioned that they could hear a song as they read the poem. Because of these comments it had been in my mind that I wanted to eventually turn the poem into a song. Now that has become a reality.
My vision in creating this song was to create something that would embody that smooth flowing “California Sound” which was popular back in the 1970s with artists such as Jackson Browne and The Eagles. I feel like I captured that essence.
