Like We Never Loved
For the One who got Away
“You don't get to walk away from me on two feet; unbroken, and unscathed and act like there were never burning embers making sparks from our fingertips when we touched..
You don't get to kiss me like I’m the only one on this lonely, fecked up planet you can’t get enough of; and act like you didn't feel passion while you were tracing memories on my lips with your tongue..
You don't get to tangle my heart in your knots of enduring friendship, and a romance set ablaze, and act like there’s nothing more there than a platonic handshake..
You don’t get to paint me into a picture of wishful desire and daydreams, and act like crashing waves against a ship at sea, driving it to a peaceful shore; and act like you never felt hungry for the adventure..
You don’t get to whisper those three words in the dancing light within your gazing eyes, and act like you don’t feel the electricity in the air between us..
You don’t get to walk away from me, and act like our story is just a short script in a small town play. We collided for a reason; you and I are a masterpiece, a mountain waiting to be conquered, a hopeless romantic love song unsung, a beautiful disaster of words left unspoken, and a power that could weave the greatest magic with just a single touch..
NO, You don’t get to walk away from me and act like we never Loved..”
