Light Needs Dark

The darkest parts within starts when the heart becomes the hardest part

There is no leniency in its approach as it begins to encroach upon,

much similar to a roach once the lights come on

It can only last but for so long,

though the eternity it seems, it feels as though it will never be gone

Like you, like me, like WE,

the living condition of said darkness never leaves,

it simply weaves

itself between the light,

searching for a place to hide and rest like the leaves of a mild autumn night

Without light there can be no dark

Much like without sight, you'll miss your mark

There is no way around it, no matter how long you linger to ignore it

Pointing fingers at others to implore it

But before you do so, know so

For your own accusations are simply your own misdeeds

What more to say, is there indeed a need?

The inner light that you have, increase the wattage

Remember a time before you had none... like an Easton cottage

The saying goes, "it has to get worse before it gets better"

so then we better seek shelter for this inclement weather.

Personally, I'd wear a sweater

For the darkness only brings about cold and the little warmth we got has to hold

And again, we must go through it

No turning around, stopping or being ignored,

It hovers like a raincloud waiting for the rain to be poured

We're taught at adolescence to fear the dark...

unable to see through it... only into it

We fear what we dont understand and hold it a steady even when someone lends a hand

Like hanging on a cliff with both arms while someone extends theirs with no qualms,

all you gotta do is reach up palm to palm

But no you rather figure it out on your own, idiot... u have no grass in which to lawn!

So when another's light begins to dim, will you lend your torch to help them win?

Perhaps they've lost their way; But you now know the trail

You learned through the first fail.

Now let's get it twisted, cause we almost missed it...

Your darkness is still there waiting in its lair.

So make sure to provide the fuel in re lighting the flare,

if you dare go there

Cynical pessimism will get you no where,

so be careful of the mental snares

Oh yeeeah,

it'll stare right back at you, fully aware of the power of theirs,

ready to push fear and doubt through the fringes of your hair

But the key is: You HAVE to fucking care....

Darkness can't win, nor will it lose

if the days ahead are filled with hope of the sun peeking out from the clouds so we can thrive

and truly feel alive.

For the light, with everything in life, that holds everything alive, TRULY provides...
