Life Ain't No Rock~N~Roll Song

Dancing to a Different Tune

Spent your petty little life

Living through the loud music

Thriving on all that strife

To the point of being ageusic

Stunted your personal growth

Partying like some sixty-year-old teen

Anyone different, you loathe

While you claim never to be mean

Snottily snorting your white lines

Crushing beer cans to impress your friends

You’ve been showing all the signs

With each abuse you toss out, our love rends

Convincing yourself the lyrics were real

Using YouTube for marriage advice

Thinking every fake degree is the real deal

You’ve turned our love into a block of ice

Because of your paranoid fantasies

Making life harder on all involved

You’re mad I can’t supply a life of ease

Furious that I decided our union needed to be dissolved

Beating you to the punch, ending the torment

It’s past time for you to grow the fuck up

You are so immature, when you make a smartass comment

No, I’ve heard enough. It’s time for you to shut up

Dressed like some redneck, stuck in the eighties

Running around with the guys, spending your last dime

Thinking you're still as cool as you were in your twenties

You’ve left me to fend for us for the last time

You’re a rock & roll junkie with nothing to show

Too busy showing off for your cronies

You blew away your family buying blow

Your whole crew is a bunch of phonies

I know what you tried so desperately to hide

All the dirty little secrets, thinking you were so sly

I’ve kept quiet in the past, but this time you don’t slide

I’m sick of all your shit. It’s time for me to say bye

So, while you're stuck in a rock & roll song

Telling everyone that will listen that I am a whore

Just know that I am at peace, because I did nothing wrong

While I move on and heal, you can continue to feel sore

I don’t care anymore what you do

I’m dancing on, listening to a different tune

So while you're stuck in a rut, I’ll be doing stuff that’s new

Enjoying my new life, while dancing under a full moon

The song you’ll play from now on, I’ll no longer hear

While life rains on your parade, I’ve the luck of the Irish

I’m smelling the roses, absorbing the good vibes and cheer

When your life goes down the drain, I’ll be living as I wish

It doesn’t matter what you say anymore, anachronistic simp

I deserve more than some middle-aged burned-out punk

You’re crazier than five-dollar hillbilly pimp

I’m calling you out, you lowdown dirty lying skunk

With your accusations made, you’ve laid the ground

You’re nothing but a lowdown horn Dawg

You and your friends have been tomcatting around

Well, I refuse to live another day in your verbose smog

I’m heading out of the chaos, and I’m moving up

Nothing you say can hurt me now, my armor’s in place

Watching your life turn bitter, I’ll sip blessings from my cup

Because I’m erasing you from my life, leaving no trace
