Let Her Be Soft

Or Leave Her Alone

Let her be soft...

When the world is hard and the times are harder

She was built to be the soft place to land

She was made of sugar and spice and all things nice

Like pillows and blankets and soft white sand

God made her from man's rib

So close to his heart

But He made her with rounded edges

That aren't at all sharp

You can't use her for harsh things

That wouldn't be fair

It's like driving in a nail

With the head of a teddy bear

You will tear her to pieces

And wear her soul thin

She may lose her buttons

She's not made of tin

Let her be soft

Let her be sweet

Don't look down on her

Or think she is weak

Because soft can be tough

And sturdy as a stone

But if you can't let her be soft

Then just leave her alone.
