"Fear is the pausing and positioning in two run down cafe chairs,
before your lover
looks around,
pausing,
Making zero eye contact
and you feel your heart beat like a frying pan hitting your bare chest.
Fear is walking your mother into a psych ward,
hearing her grind her teeth
Anxious
sweating
and she feels both heavy and light grabbing your right arm.
Fear is all your friends jumping off a massive stone cliff,
Into the icy transparent blue,
as your head starts to burn red
and your legs become old jello..
you jump anyways, arms open
Ready for your crucifixion.
Fear is knowing the one
You love
Friend
Lover
Family
Will die and
That life is fleeting.
Fear is necessary to show the truth of being alive.
You have to be in the moment
Sensitivity on fire
And oddly...
that's what makes life so expressive, monumentous.
Leasing a contract to mortality,
You sign yes
And life becomes a powerful play
Dance through the fire
Anyhow."
