Lavender

Me described in color as my partner sees me.

Photo of Lavender plant.

The first thing you must know about me is I love the color purple. My phone case is purple, sunglasses, purses, shoes, and most importantly my notebook. Whenever I get a personalized gift for a birthday it comes in purple. I welcome all shades of purple from lilac to violet and of course lavender. So when I asked my partner to pick a color that describes me, lavender, seemed a natural choice. But what I didn't expect was the why. My partner said that I bring relaxation to their life, just like our favorite lavender oil we drop in the diffuser. So I wrote this poem about being Lavender. Enjoy.

Lavender

Looking at her I see

A wave of purple majesty - A

Vision of tranquility. Here is

Earth’s maiden in my presence.

Now I hold her in my arms and

Dare myself to inhale her scent, to

Ease my stress and worries.

Rachel is her name.
