Words Belong to All of Us
As a poet I am always looking for a new way to explore text and play with words. A new project for me is creating erasure poetry from magazines. This project came from two origins; 1. That I was lacking inspiration in writing organically and 2. I have a a lot of old magazines laying around. Come along for my process of creating a poem from previously written text.

Lavender
The first thing you must know about me is I love the color purple. My phone case is purple, sunglasses, purses, shoes, and most importantly my notebook. Whenever I get a personalized gift for a birthday it comes in purple. I welcome all shades of purple from lilac to violet and of course lavender. So when I asked my partner to pick a color that describes me, lavender, seemed a natural choice. But what I didn't expect was the why. My partner said that I bring relaxation to their life, just like our favorite lavender oil we drop in the diffuser. So I wrote this poem about being Lavender. Enjoy.
