What happened to my country oh lord
What happened to our home
Why has life become so dark
Who is sitting on our throne
Regretting that I sat there
In such an arbitrary fashion
It seemed as I did not care
I watched it as it happened
Days brought heat
like never before
Nights grew colder
A different kind of war
Fire came flowing
From all directions
As floods came in rage
Washing away reflections
Now we line up one by one
in chains and shackles I see
Wasn’t this the home of the brave
And land of the free?
We can hear others screaming
Asking why oh why
And the children disappearing
During the dead of night
Stomachs rumble , bleeding feet
Sight growing dim
Give it up they say
You will never win
As the wind blew loudly
Yet no breeze wondered by
I’m awoke to reality
alone am I?
This is our country
Like it there is no other
We are one nation under god
This land is our mother
for the silence Is over
voices should have never caved
Because we are the land of the free
And the home of the brave
