Karmic Lovers

Chaotic Fate

Content to just drift along on my raft

Looking at my choices in the dating pool

Swiping left more often than right

Creating ripples along the surface

Blocking any display of unwanted character

This kitty can afford to be picky

Throwing fishies back without a second glance

Since she’s in love with one she can’t have

She’s just idly passing the time

Full acceptance of the fate

Her heart’s choice just wasn’t meant to be

This was before the charismatic one swam past

Catching her eye with his fancy tail and fin spins

Her eyes were drawn to his, and they locked together

His soul spoke to hers, drawing her ever closer

Who was the fisher here?

Opening his mouth, speaking the words she needed to hear

Before she could think, she leaped from the safety of her raft

Almost to drown in his arms

Karmic

Fated

Finally able to come up for air, she cleared her head

Quickly she swam to the safety of her raft

She knew if she stayed with this lover, she’d lose herself

That the lesson had been learned

Time was for her to move on

It broke her heart to admit this fact

But to stay would tear it from her chest and crush it

The lesson she held close to her heart

The past did not deaden her; she was still vibrant

It just took the hands of a good man

To raise those feelings to the surface

She’d always love him for showing her this truth

This fish who she allowed to slip through her fingers
