block printed on paper with old block prints on backing felt, handmixed green - original art

can it be perfect

can it be perfectly right

that's not a real thing

. . . [6/25/23]

. . .

what if i told you

to pack you bags, we're leaving

would you really come

. . . [6/25/23]

. . .

it's a little grey

but that's not reason to not

the beach is the best

. . . [6/25/23]

. . .

eggs almonds ocean

plus some tea and my sweetie

this is pretty good

. . . [6/25/23]

. . .

good news, my sweetie

"everything is fine," he said

and i'll believe him

. . . [6/25/23]

. . .

listen, it's night time

we'll go to sleep pretty soon

that will be lovely

. . . [6/25/23]

. . .

sunday night does come

we have our thoughts about it

we must move through it

. . . [6/25/23]

. . .

reading and music

a nice way to end the day

let's go to bed now

. . . [6/25/23]

. . .

just stay open now

that's what you told me to do

the question will come

. . . [6/26/23]

. . .

maybe i've been wrong

maybe this is not quite right

be open to it

. . . [6/26/23]

. . .

the way is open

it's waiting for you right now

just turn to the right

. . . [6/26/23]

. . .

open the windows

it's finally warm enough

oh, that's much better

. . . [6/27/23]

. . .

leaving for trip soon

i'm so glad to have some time

just to have some space

. . . [6/27/23]

. . .

youngest and oldest

together all night and day

special time i bet

. . . [6/28/23]

. . .

live music right here

he sits on those steps and plays

i'm pretty lucky

. . . [6/28/23]

. . .

seems to be better

being taken care of right

next phases of life

. . . [6/29/23]

. . .

to end in sadness

sure seems a punch in the face

but he's not quite sad

. . . [6/29/23]

. . .

boarded and ready

we took off late but we go

now it's just fly time

. . . [6/29/23]

. . .

what's life gonna be

we six connected for life

different but the same

. . . [6/29/23]

. . .

. . .

and i didn't write anymore haiku in june, suprisingly. on the trip; the reunion with my family. just a couple of days i didn't or at least not where i "keep" them (where i typically write them) - maybe i'll find them. i love writing everyday, but i also like just flowing. and those last 2 days were focused on family events. i always give myself a little time in mornings. sometimes it's not doing anything- i listen to me; what's right for right me right now. i remember those 2 mornings, in the hotel instead of in "the house" -- i remember just sitting. that was nice. so that's june of 2023. thanks for reading, for taking it in! -- kory
