It's a methed up world

How did life get so methed up?

Why has it become "epidemic proportions?"

How did it become the norm to self-medicate to get through the day?

How is it "fun" to take poison for a boost?

Statistics say it is only .9% of Americans that have used meth in the past 12 months

But that computes to 2.6 MILLION people

Aged 12 or older.

I cried to read that because I have someone in those 2.6 million.

I went on to read that in the past year

0.2% of 8th graders, 0.2% of 10th graders, and 0.2% of 12th graders used meth

Who are these dealers? How can they not have a conscience?

They sell to CHILDREN

Kids with brains not fully formed

Not capable of comprehending the horrors that await

to recognize the trap they have stepped into

Or the horrors that await

Nor the long road that it takes to escape

Whether to sobriety or the grave

And mothers and fathers

Sisters and brothers

Friends and lovers

Watch helplessly as their loved one flails

In a mess bigger than they are

Life becomes about the moment

Trying to string enough moments together

To get from one fix to the next.

And the zombie life they live

With no relief.

What possesses anyone to be a dealer?

What possesses anyone to encourage another to partake of something so vile?

A Dealer is surely the Devil in disguise.

How could you?

Why would you?

I F***ING HATE YOU MOTHERF***ER!

Because you are the reason

It's a Methed Up World
