Valentines day summary

season and love as cold as ice

fourteenth day in February

when true love pays a price

sugar coated candies

chocolate hearts and flowery cards

baby lace and panties

more than choices getting hard

a ploy for fairer weather

an escape from winter blues

a warmed up tv dinner

I mean, what’s a girl to do

a song and dance for lovers

a day to celebrate with flair

24 hours for undercover

expressing just how much you care

being single on a couples day

is like sunbathing in December

goosebumps have a subtle way

of helping you remember

mark it on your calendar

be sure to plan ahead

when love is as straining as a colander

remember, the hearts favorite shade is red

Wonderful poem. The feeling was goosebumps when I read this line - "goosebumps have a subtle way of helping you remember." Amazing. Happy Valentines day. :)

Oh, so well expressed as always, Kelli! I confess, I'm a sucker for Valentine's Day, but not a fan of the commercialism. I went to a lot of trouble to make sure it was the day that Pam's ring was delivered, all those years ago. These days, I usually fire up the grill, she fixes a dessert, and we enjoy a quiet evening at home. Happy Valentines Day, my friend!

    Happy Valentine's Day!

  • Valentine's Day & Ash Wednesday coincide this year. Ashes & hearts, somehow it seems appropriate. If not for being in a committed relationship I might offer you an alternative. Then you would discover that there really are worse things than being single on Valentine's Day, lol. Seriously, whether single or coupled or otherwise, may you know this Valentine's Day & always that you are loved, my friend.
