A feeling that can't be controlled
Is it the way they make you laugh, or the way they hold
Is it the way they make you whole, or the way they mold
Is it love or attraction, a game of give and take
A feeling that can make or break
Is it the way they make you feel alive, or the way they make you ache
Is it the way they make you feel, or the way they make you fake
Is it love or attraction, a feeling that's hard to define
A question that's hard to decline
But when it's real, it's like a fire, burning bright and true
And you'll know it's love, not just attraction, because it'll feel like home with you.

The Last Resident
This story took place in the spring of 2018, when my friend and I were 21 years old. We had met in high school and bonded over our shared love of outdoor adventure. There's an old railroad-turned-gravel trail that winds through the heavy forests and valleys near our midwestern town for over 10 miles.

I have been taking some time away from writing. I haven't forgotten about Vocal, the truth is I just have been too busy pursuing other things to write online and honestly, my little family and I just had a really hard month between the flu and a weird eye infection/cold circulating our house. I'm currently sipping some warm peppermint tea because my throat is sore.
