You call ourselves rationals

But we no longer use words

Instead you replace it with guns,

With blood and bitter tears.

Irrational beings don’t use guns

What is the difference between us?

Sanity has been lost from centuries

As well as the peace treaty.

For some today is the last dusk

For others the first dawn

Today is the new tomorrow

Because tomorrow may not came.

Dreams lost because of daydreams

Of those who believe they are rich

A woman today becomes a widow

Because patriarchy rules.

The atmosphere portrays fear

Most reluctant and fearsome about the future

We don't know who's on our side

Those who ask for compassion

Had begun to lose faith.

Bold are those who fear nothing

“Off the street “they said but we are marching joyfully

Our future has already been taken

Don’t you dare to take us the

Right to exist.

Lisa, I appreciate you sharing this moving article. It's a potent analysis of how grief and violence affect our society.
