Inspiration Interrupted
An Acrostic Poem
Diverting thoughts lead astray,
Interests wander and fade away.
Straying from tasks I should do,
The minutes fly fast, time slips through.
Restless mind, wandering eye,
Attention diverted, the hours fly by.
Chaos and clutter, a jumble of notions,
Thoughts come unbidden, in waves and commotions.
Inspiration may strike, ideas take flight,
Only to flit off into the night.
Noticing each little thing, Yet accomplishing nothing.

Author Notes: In this poem, I explore the ever-present challenge of distraction and its impact on our productivity and creativity. As someone who struggles with staying focused at times, I wanted to capture the way that our thoughts can wander and lead us astray, even when we have the best of intentions. Through this poem, I hope to offer a relatable perspective on the struggle to balance inspiration with discipline, and to remind readers that they are not alone in their quest to stay focused and productive.
