Note from me: This poem is written like a song. It can be interpreted in many ways.

For me, I interpreted it as someone who is done with the world and they are doing everything they could to numb their pain away.

I fell in love with the Devil.

I bit into his rotten apple.

Signed the contract

Without sweating the details.

Traded pain for pleasure.

Numb this pain away.

Lock this broken heart away.

Sing me the songs of the angels.

Burn my heart with passion.

Fill my veins with your drug.

Promises of paradise

As I get high from your false affection.

I fell in love with the Devil.

I can see through his lies.

But I was blinded by his light

In this dark forest,

I learned to call home.

Mmm, darling,

Sing me the songs of the angels.

Promise me paradise.

I'll trade this awful life with your sweet lies.

Caress my skin with your touch.

Chain me down to hell with you.

I'll fall into the depths of hell with you.

I'll snip my wings for you.

I fell in love with the Devil.

Lucifer, The Morningstar.

I know his whispers are lies.

But he is much sweeter

Than this God-forsaken life!

Oh, darling!

Sing me the songs of the Devils

The battlecry of the lost angels.

I'll bite into your rotten apple.

Just please lock my broken soul away.
