In cities both dark and fair

Crime knows no boundaries there

It casts its grimy shadow o'er

And beguiles unsuspecting passersby,

In schools and on the streets,

All folks it attempts to greet.

Troubled youth, joyless and disenchanted

Give in to the murky world they've daunted

Despairing victims in shadows lurk

Robbing from neighbors, others may shirk.

Viciousness finds victims unawares

With awful dread its fearsome glares

Law-abiding citizens find its consequences quite severe

They lead a cautious, fraught life full of fear

Resistance yields its meagre fare

Until our only hope becomes Prayer

But fear not, light shall soon break

Police, honest folks, come at its wake

They will uncover its shadiest of secrets

And for justice, each suspect let's hear plead.
