If we had met in another
time and place,
somewhere other than the present,
when we were lost in our dreams,
would we have still become friends,
the way we are now?
Would we have done the same
things we did as youth,
when all we thought about were,
youthful adventures and fun,
living out life as we knew it?
Or should I just enjoy the present,
not think about what might have been?
For it is not ours to change.
Although our time now is for a reason
Embrace those moments we have,
for they are never assured.
We know not what tomorrow brings.
Rest on this, that this time is ours
to manifest some wonderful miracle,
only true friends can muster.
