For Tomorrow

End of Today

By Marty ThibodauxPublished 7 years ago 1 min read

This tomorrow which I face,

that dwells the other side of today,

draws me to a place I'm not

sure I want to face.

For my tomorrow lends no hint,

of what future hidden, within it's grasp,

lays ahead of me, with the mornings glow.

This uncertainty may come as a lion,

patiently waiting to devour it's prey,

and leave no evidence of existence

of the darkness that happened there.

Perhaps, just the opposite, a songbird

perched high on branches of an oak,

awaiting the morning's golden glow,

to sing songs of goodwill and promise.

I dare not to dwell upon

these uncertainties of tomorrow's morning,

it is not my desire to,

not my place to worry upon.

My thoughts are better placed

upon things that really matter,

today.
