Wild Turkeys roam tamely

through flowers gone wild

they amble in carefree seclusion

enjoying sheltered freedom while

strolling in Anna’s garden

*

She considers their pleasure

becoming for them a miniature god

She does her small part in a larger creation

and revels in pride with their ambient stride

while toiling in Anna’s Garden

*

Back hoe and tractor

unconditional she labors

her parrot a perch approving the plan

She graciously shares her nurturing heart

with the furry and feathery clans

*

On occasion when she goes away - and I stay

wild turkeys stretch their long necks

to peer through the window inquiring

”Where’s Anna?” Can she come out and play?
