Imagine This
a poem
Imagine this:
You are driving.
You are wearing your favourite outfit and you feel confident for the first time in a very long time.
It’s summer. It’s always summer in our dreams.
Imagine this:
She hasn’t said she doesn’t love you.
She must love you.
And you’re on your way to have a coffee with her by the sea
It’s better than anything you could have imagined, it’s better than a movie, a teenage dream. It’s real and
you’re going.
Imagine this:
You’re the chaser and you’ve won her over.
You’re hollow but you don’t care.
We are more than one thing anyway, we are monsters and angels, carrying a variety of truths and realities. We are rich with with reasons and excuses for the heartbreaks and all the years of loneliness. You no longer want to fight and anger
You didn’t think you’d feel this way but you’ve been driving
for hours and there’s nothing else you’d rather do.
Imagine this:
She has already bought the coffees
You have everything.
