I watched you grow

From a boy

To a man

A boyfriend

I know you’re favorite flavor of ice cream

To the freckles on you’re nose

To a dad

I couldn’t love our child more, it’s a part of us,

Just ours and no one else’s

Again, I watched you grow

From a friend

I know you have my back no matter what

To a lover

You are someone I can trust

A husband

I waited my whole life to call you that

To a grandpa

The kids want to sip, you’re coffee as they make a grossed out face...

Forever, we are learning the nuance of romance,

I did not know that my heart had the capacity to love you over and over

Through each phase,

The shy

The awkward

The confidence

The job loss

To the career changes

To adapt, our love, to respect each others dislikes and difference,

Forever, we are growing together, our flaws make us colorful.

Time has taught us, never to part,

You had my heart,

from the start..
