I see you.
Anxious ones, when your mind won’t rest.
The depressed who are struggling just to get dressed.
So many parents, wondering if they’re doing enough.
Those who feel they can’t go on because life is too tough.
I see you.
Those who’ve been bullied and feel pushed away.
The ones who are beat down almost every day.
Youth struggling to find where they fit in.
Those wondering if they’ll ever find love again.
I see you.
Where you see mistakes, failure, and pain,
I see someone learning to dance in the rain.
I see you trying and giving your best.
Please calm your mind and go get some rest.
I see you.
You think you’re down on the bottom of the pile.
I see you climbing, even if it takes a while.
I see your caring, your love, and your trust.
I see your strength, now believe in it…you must.
Because as day turns to night I’ve done all that I could.
I pray that you see yourself just as you should.
Say good bye to worries. No more frets, doubts, or fears.
No more self hate, hopelessness, or tears.
I pray in the morning you wake up with new light,
And ready to give the day your best fight.
I see you.

Families Aren't All Perfect
On June 26, 1989, I prematurely made my way into the world. I wasn’t due for another 2 months. My family quickly helped my parents move into the tiny house they had just bought. It wasn’t extravagant by any means, but it would do. It needed a lot of work done, but it was what they could afford at the time. Besides, my dad was really handy when it came to repairs. For the next 3 years, my mom and dad figured out their new life with a child. On January 10, 1993, my sister Rachael was born. She was a little red-head with shirley temple curls. I now had a partner in crime as she got older. Someone I could play with...and fight with. Once she outgrew the crib, we got bunk beds for our room. And then on July 14, 1996, we had yet another adjustment to make. My sister Amanda was born. And then there were 5...and a dog...all in our tiny house. A crib and bunk beds all in the same room. On the outside, everyone thought we were doing so well. Little did they know, our family was far from ok.

NAZIS IN AMERICA
In May of 1945, amidst the collapse of the Third Reich, high-ranking Nazi engineer Wernher von Braun reached out to the US government, aware of his strategic value due to his role in developing long-range ballistic missiles. Von Braun's proactive approach highlighted the beginning of Operation Paperclip, a covert initiative aimed at recruiting German scientists to the US before they fell into Soviet hands. Over the course of 17 years, Operation Paperclip facilitated the relocation of over 1,500 German scientists to America, disregarding their Nazi affiliations and potential war crimes.

INTRODUCTION Prompted: #3 is over and done with. There were a total of 7 entries for this challenge, just like with Prompted #2. That was a bit surprising, considering this was a poetry challenge. The first poetry challenge garnered much more attention. Of course, one way to look at the drop in participation is that Vocal writers are not fans of the rondel.
