I'm No Fool

And the widow hung herself with water,

the corpse on fire, no burns afterward

a surgeon shrieks! all baffle and bother

for when the chest was agape, not a literate word

was sounded as the heart leapt back and forth

silence, i thought death

fluid, i thought water

flicker, i thought flame

these were the last thoughts of mine

as the heart eats! all laughter and loftier

for its tongues split in arches of lightning rime

a melody ill never remember, a life ill never surrender

i say as i lay on a gurney

ba-dum ba-drum back then

i wouldve said run

but im no fool....

sad poetry
