I'll Always Be Here

Your Friend, Anxiety

Are you there? Is anyone there?

I'm all alone, in this dark room.

Have you forgotten I existed,

Just going through your days

without a second thought about me?

Huh; that's unacceptable.

I see you, I know you're there.

I see you, when the sweat runs

down your neck,

and your breathing gets harder.

I see you, whenever you stutter

and stumble over your words.

I see the anxious movements

of your hands twisting in knots

like a cobra twisting it's prey.

You can act like I'm not here.

You can mask up and give

an Oscar worthy performance.

Do it, give it all that you're worth.

I'm slowly slipping through

the cracks you have let form.

I'm here.

And when no one else is there

to pick you up, don't worry darling,

I'm here, I'll always be here.
