“I Left a Message for You”

By

K. R. King

He lined his pockets

with the Blood of a slave

It will never be enough,

no matter how much they gave

With just one prayer, Child,

you can be saved

If that's your rescue,

I'd rather die today

If that's your love,

I'd rather fight its pain

Dig a tunnel to the underground

And run away.

Was it all in vain?

Give myself another name;

surely one that won't bring you shame.

There is no time, it's not a game

The man is there and he longs for fame,

But when I turn to look,

There's only me to blame.
