I don't understand why you lock yourself up in your room
When the sun is bright and shining outside
I don't understand why you say "crying makes me feel better"
When I see a whole field vying for you to have some fun
I don't understand why you insist on following the rules
When the rules were designed for us to break them
I don't understand when you say "that's the way it is"
When I know you know there's more to the story
I don't understand why you've forgotten to dream big
When I know you entertain those imaginations every now and again
I don't understand why you eat the stale chips instead of the good
When I know you have more than enough in your "savings" to spend a little
