I awoke this morning

Today I woke with air in my lungs, water in my veins, fire on my tongue, and the trembling earth in my bones.

I awoke with the fierce spirit of my grandfather's fighting to protect our home.

I awoke with the heart of my father standing to protect the sacred.

I awoke with the grief of my grandmother's for all our lost brothers and sisters, and the tears of my mother for the pain of all my relations.

Today, I awoke, alive, blessed, and determined to live in honour of my ancestors, the earth, and Great Spirit.

--------

May my life be a testament to the power of Divine Love on Earth,

May my life be the manifestation of my grandmothers prayers,

May my life be the culmination of my grandfathers dreamings.

May all who cross my path be bettered for it, and may my thoughts words and actions contribute to the alleviation of suffering of all sentient beings.

May the gift that is my life be given back one hundred fold by the moment of my last breath.
