Humanity's Darks Shadows

There's a darkness in humanity,

A shadow we all share,

A side we try to hide away,

But it's always lurking there.

We try to be the best we can,

To be kind and loving too,

But sometimes we falter and we fail,

And our darker side breaks through.

We judge and hate and hurt each other,

We lie and cheat and steal,

We tear down everything around us,

And forget how to feel.

But even in our darkest moments,

When we're lost and all alone,

There's still a light that shines within us,

A hope that's not yet gone.

We have the power to choose our path,

To be better than we were before,

To find the goodness in our hearts,

And let our shadows be no more.

So let us face the darkness head-on,

And be the light that guides the way,

For we are all a part of humanity,

And the shadows we carry each day.
