How Are You?

Where Are You?

By Colleen Millsteed Published 3 years ago Updated 3 years ago 1 min read

Lately you have been on my mind

And I am finding myself missing you,

Absolutely ridiculous idea

As it’s 17 years since we were through.

So although it’s been a lot of years

Since we were last together,

We are still husband and wife

By marriage we are tethered.

I don’t think I want

You back in my life,

But I do need to know

Why am I still your wife?

For all I know

You no longer walk this earth,

And that would devastate me

But I need to know for all it’s worth.

I have nothing but a telephone number

And possibly an old address,

How would I go about finding out

Without you aware of the process.

I would like to hear that you are happy

That your tortured soul has found some peace,

You’re still extremely important to me

And I’d love to know that at least.

About the Creator

Colleen Millsteed

My first love is poetry — it’s like a desperate need to write, to free up space in my mind, to escape the constant noise in my head. Most of the time the poems write themselves — I’m just the conduit holding the metaphorical pen.
