House is not a Home
My home left when you walked out the door

Without you here
There is no warmth
The light that would blind
Has been extinguished
A cold side of the bed
I can’t get you out of my head
Wherever I turn
You are there
But you’re not
The walls are empty
And the joy has been cleaned out
The happiness here has been boxed up
And sealed tight with tape and tears
I yearn
For you
To come back
All that is here
Just objects with no meaning
This house is not a home
Without you in it
