Hopelessly Clueless

an affair

By Robin Jessie-GreenPublished 3 years ago 1 min read

Now who would have guessed

That on my now heavy heart

You would have impressed

Such an overwhelming mark of loving tenderness

And who could have known

Of the love you have secretly shown

That has only truly grown

in the heart of your misled mistress

And who should have realized

That you wanted to minimize

Any developing emotions of love—

In order not to jeopardize

The promise of a covenant bound to someone else

In the Eyes of the One above

And I had no idea I could love this way

But still you stay to my dismay

And I had no idea I could want this way

But still I lay

hoping that you’ll be mine one day...
