Hope for Tomorrow

A poem during this pandemic

The Sun Sets to Rise Tomorrow

Today the world that seems too bleak and dismal to us;

For life that promised of fulfilment and joy,

Is surely full of caged hopes and fear of unknown.

As we remain in our abode of isolation and boundaries,

We are but compelled to really think and wonder:

Have we, as a humanity, failed the test of patience?

Have we, in our selfishness, forgotten the beauty of life?

A world that was full of voices unknown;

Where countless hustle bustle of crowds,

And the overwhelming activities of life

Hindered the true value of life,

Where true cherishable moments

Were quickly replaced by ulterior motives.

What have we made of the glorious world,

That was gifted to us in all its pure grandeur.

Replacing the unaltered serenity with deafening loud sounds,

The green foliage that protected the breath of life;

Were unknowingly replaced by conceited dark ambitions.

Have we in our selfishness forgotten what’s true?

It’s not too late to mend our mistakes!

For ahead lies a hope of eternal bliss;

As we awaken to the warm tenderness within our bosom;

To the innate compassion and love encompassing our soul

For it surely was long forgotten in the midst of our busy schedules.

Now more than ever, it craves to be set loose.

Let us come together; sailing onto the countless shores of life,

Commencing the journey hand in hand,

Walking towards the splendor of dawn;

Where laughter, warmth and love are foremost

And each moment moving forward,

Remains to be discovered.
