Homegirl is artsy-crafty

the memories homespun-

Behind four walls

cozy as homeyness

Between two arms

comforting as stillness

Full of blanket forts, snuggles

and Dino nuggets!

Laughter drawing attention,

abstract as

messy buns to floors...

omne trium perfectum

(Everything that comes

in three’s is perfect)

Homebound, homeschoolers’, homework—

A single gaze;

welcoming in

four pairs of eyes

blue as aventurine...

My soul

takes residence in yours

like a homebody-

My hearts homestead

may be my body—

Adora darling you’re

the beat in my pulse:

like chime of a doorbell-

My affectionate heart is no longer, homeless

how heartwarming!

Her hayseed hashes;

Leave the straw in the field

don’t build house!

Let the dog fetch sticks

don’t frame out the walls!

Homeliest of wolves,

and high winds

WILL

blow em’ down—

When life

weighs you down like bricks

DON’T

be mortified-

Lay the foundation;

of expectations—

You’re not meek,

You’re no doormat,

NEVER

shrink yourself

into someone else’s box,

and call it home!
