Before you get worried, this piece isn't about target shooting. No, the bullseye in question is one's purpose in life.

Recent work challenges have made me consider my life's purpose. We ask questions like "Am I walking the right path in life?" "Why does it always feel like I'm in the wrong situation?" "Why can't I ever get this right?", and the heaviest question of all, "What is my destiny?"

Hitting the bullseye is perhaps the tallest order of any of our tasks in life. Curve balls strike randomly and make us question our rightful place in our relationships and careers. We wonder if we are doing what is meaningful and if it will make a difference to the lives of others.

The answer will take time to unfold for some, and it may seem like an eternal process that we have no control over. But we can lock the bow that will eventually hit the target - we can identify our strengths and passions, explore new ground and seek knowledge.

Hitting the bullseye is a herculean task that happens in time, with a little practice. Enjoy these verses.

Archer

Lone ranger

Cocks his bow and arrow

Brow taut

Muscles tense

Archer

knows best

The range and style

Arrowhead

That will score

The bullseye

Archer

Peers ahead

To seek

Bullseye

Well-hidden

He

Bides his time

Peers around

Gazes squarely at the target

And hits

The bullseye.
