Story of a man I knew

Did you happen to hear of the helper man? Or did anyone tell you the tale? Of a time when the people went loopty loop and his doings made people turn pale.

It started out with love and attention, at least that's what he thought it was. Then reality hit, he had been tricked it was all the wrong kinds of affection.

Weeks turned to months and months turned to years enduring gentle unloving maneuvers, until the day came the helper man changed starting his own new endeavor.

He started off small, planting a seed, in the heads of whom he once loved. Pretending to be what they thought he was, until he could take off the gloves.

They entered the ring and then all at once before anyone knew what had happened, he opened his eyes, and there still and blind lay the people who made it all happen.

Now the helper man was lost again in a world he thought he once wanted. Staggering round in this world upside down, still the boy he always was - haunted.

He took out his guns because the things that he'd done were more than anyone knew. He would take to the grave the secrets he made because now his heads come unscrewed.

Luckily for him, it didn't work out, the coward that he really was, could not pull the trigger, heard "life could be bigger" than anyone said that it was.

The helper man started by helping himself, giving up all that he thought he knew. He reached to the sky, learned how to cry, the people were shocked how he grew.

How did you do it? You're not what you were! The people excited yet frightened.

They listened in awe, saw what they saw, began sharing and then felt enlightened.

Honest, open, and willing were they as he shared with those also staggering. Together they shared, they payed, and they cared, and that's how the helper man happened.
