Happy Place

Can't calm down

Short poems.

I look into the mirror

I can't recognize this woman looking back

Less lively, less fun

Happiness she lacks

Tired under eyes

Dry skin, messy hair

Dead eyes with no twinkle

Just filled with darkness and despair

This cant be the same woman

Hair up no curls

But look deeper inside those eye's

Different woman, same sad scared little girl

Fake smile hiding fear

Legs shaking with anxiety

Fear of losing, fear of failure

Heart filled with stress, happiness on empty

Her inner voice always putting her down

Telling her she'll never be enough, never be free

Never be funny, never be smart

Overall just never succeed

Voices inside begin to yell

"Your a loser, your a failure, you're a disgrace"

She just wants it to stop

"Be better, be smarter, pick up the damn pace"

"You're nothing, you're ugly"

She can't breathe, her heart is in a race

Suddenly she feels strong arms pull her

He's here, voices stop, finally her happy place.
